I am sitting underneath the shade of a tree which looks like something from a far off planet and speckles of sun are peeking through. I am looking at the harbor bridge and Sydney Opera house watching the ripples of water dancing for me. I am stunned by the beauty I have seen. The walk over the iconic bridge had me smiling when I saw the word Canada and saw our flag. I have enjoyed my time seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Hearing people's accents on the streets the different noises birds make and of course how excited people get to hear my stories of Canada and Calgary. I can spend the next three months in this spot and it wouldn't be a waste. I feel more welcome here than my eight years in Calgary thoughts run through my mind excited for the present moment and for the figured. I now know what it means to be welcome.
