My friend told me that this is something you need to experience once. You have to get up at 5:00 am in order to see this and hopefully it won't be far away from your guesthouse. Westerners are allowed to do this but, if you are going to do this make sure you realize what you are doing and obey all of the rules such as the requirements for the clothes you need to wear etc. It was interesting to be there for it but, I do not think most people would be able to appreciate what they are experiencing. One of the unfortunate things that surround this tradition is it seems like the monks are put on display. Some locals will sell food close to this area which could be improperly prepared or ridiculous prices. I think the important thing is to remember to have respect for the people and their country. The countries you visit are for their people to be comfortable not for you to be comfortable.

I tried to stay back as far as I could so I would not interrupt it and to not get in the way of pictures. It is times like these you wish you had a camera with better zoom.
