Travel the world long enough and there will be things back home that bother you and this is one of them.
Two things are inevitable in life taxes and death. As frustrating as taxes are one thing that is more annoying is how much things are really costing you. Let me explain that last sentence a little more, if you buy something in Central America, Jamaica, Asia and places like that you negotiate the price and it will be a nice round dollar. When you are in places like Australia and New Zealand if you see a price that is what you pay whether it be at a grocery store, a restaurant or any other shop. Now in Canada or the US the price you see is before taxes and before tipping (not going to touch the tipping on this one). I hear from a lot of people they pick up items in a shop in Canada and get to the front to realize they don’t have enough because they didn’t think about the taxes. Maybe it is just me but why not put the taxes right in the price. I want to know how much the item is actually going to cost me without having to think about it. As Canadians we are used to having to think about the taxes on top but it does get frustrating. My question is to you; is there any one real good reason why we don’t have the taxes included on prices?
