People come people go - ski addiction

This is the longest on my trip I have stayed in one place and am starting to understand the need of being alone or being lazy for a day from time to time. Don't get me wrong it is great meeting people all the time but someday's you don't want to meet people of course as I say this I knock on wood! I am realizing more now how quickly some people come and go through your life. You meet all kinds of people and sometimes you never see them again. There was countless people I was friends with and spent all day everyday with them and now I have no idea where they are or anything. When you are staying in a hostel there is always someone new and it is worse if you are in a party hostel especially with people who are only travelling for a short time - always someone new who wants to drink/go out. Think about your loved ones who have passed on you never know when it will happen. When you are single you don't have anyone to come home to at the end of the day - what am I getting at with this? When was the last time you told your spouse, partner, boyfriend, girlfriend whatever you love them or held them close? When was the last time you called/visited your mother, father, brother, sister, nieces, nephews, grandparents etc? When was the last time you told your kids how important they are?

Some people may take this as being lonely, or depressed but it is just the opposite. I am realizing how important the people in our lives really are. Too many times when you are at home, a game, a restaurant what is the first thing people do??? Come on you know and you do it too - often you check your phone - you might email, text, get the wifi password, check who knows what? For some of you what is the last thing you do before you go to bed - check your phone one last time. When was the last time you unplugged from your phone or the internet. Do yourself a favour this weekend coming up for all of you working people -  unplug from the virtual world turn your phone off and don't go on the computer and spend the time with the ones you love and care about, or a friend you haven't seen for awhile. Some of the people in your life just may need a pickup and maybe you do yourself.

As for me I will be heading home in a couple of weeks and will spend a good chunk of time visiting friends and family before I get ready to bounce around the US before I leave for who knows how long.

p.s. I ended up skiing for a third day in a row since the snow gods are snowing upon me! The final run today was the first time I really got to ski in fresh pow :) the addiction has now grown!
